Question:

A Muslim person supporting a Christian person in a supported living complex must take a resident to a pub every Saturday and church every Sunday. Can you please clarify where this person stands in terms of deen?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

It does not befit a Muslim to show support in any manner to someone who is doing actions against Quran and Hadith including Muslims and non-Muslims. Moreso to the ones who follow a different faith and actively seek support to maintain their religious practices.

If the person does this thinking it’s fine to support someone like this, then that person is in a very dangerous position regarding his deen, and he should repent and stay away from these things. If a person does it unknowingly then he must repent and have a firm conviction not to repeat these mistakes.

We as Muslims help as much as Shariah has permitted us to do so. When it comes to religious practices and obligations, we don’t bend our backs to anyone. For example: If someone is willing to celebrate Eid with us, all is well and good, but we do not celebrate any of their religious holidays.
