Question:

Assalam o Alaikum,

My parents have been doing combined qurbani for them and us, the children. Now that I am settled, and can do my own qurbani, i offered to pay my share in the Qurbani, which they are hesitant to accept. I want to know if it is obligatory for me to pay for my own qurbani or my parents can still do a qurbani for all of us, keeping in view that I can afford it.

Bismillah

In the name of Allah the most Beneficent, the most Merciful

Doing combined Qurbani is  allowed. (Muslim Hadeeth No. 2322,2324).

And Offering Qurbani by parents for all family member is also allowed. This is due to the statement of Abu Ayyub (RA): "A man used to slaughter a sheep during the lifetime of the prophet for himself and his family members as well."
