Question:
First of all thank you so much for your reply to my first question; I really appreciate you for your generosity and support. May Allah grant all of you His highest paradise.
I have some question that bothering me for now; I’ve got several things like electric bike, motorcycles and a house that is probably my father got it from RIBA source. Suppose that was true, I already used them for work and business. I've read some articles that if we possess something haram that anything derived from it became haram. That would mean everything that I got from that things, for example I got my salary, I bought computers, Smartphone, money I earned, all would became haram right?
Answer
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the Holy Quran Allah has said:
“Allah has permitted transactions and has forbidden riba” (Surah Al Baqarah v.275)
The Prophet of Allah has cursed the person who takes interest, who gives interest and who writes it and who witnesses it.”
(Mishkaatul-Masabeeh p.244 v.1)
“To take dirham of interest knowingly is worse than committing adultery 36 times.” (Mishkaatul-Masabeeh p.246 v.1)
Regarding your question it would be permissible for one to take salaries and earnings and also buy items with such money due to it falling under tabdeel-e-milk (change of ownership) one is not accountable for the actions of others.
In the Holy Quran Allah Tala has said:
“And nobody does anything but to his own account and no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another.” (Al-Anam v.164)
Only Allah knows best.
