Question:

Can a Haji living in Taif change his intention from Qiran to Ifrad?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Before donning the Ihram the changing of intention will be allowed. However, after wearing the Ihram one is not allowed to change their intention from Qiran, which included an intention for an Umrah, to Ifrad which does not include an Umrah. If one does so, it will be as if the Umrah was abandoned and will require reparation.
