Question:

I have a female servant in my home when my parents go away. If I stay in my room and do not come out of it and my door is closed and I study then is it permissible for me to stay there or not or is it still khalwa?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Since you are in a separate room it will not be considered khalwa since there is an adequate barrier between you and the maid.^[1]
