Question:
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah
Islam is the only true religion and was brought by all the prophets only previous shariats were abrogated. People deviated and made new religions based on wrong beliefs such as Christianity and Judaism when Originally the religion brought by all prophets was Islam. Christians and Judaism are called People of the book due to following prophets and books of Allah Ta'ala but deviated and started doing kufr and shirk. I was told that yahoodi and Ansar were either names of a person or place respectively and they were called with those names that. I was told that Allah Ta'ala used those names in the Quran to make us understand something like that and they were believers (Muslims) something like that.
The people who followed Hazrat Isa alaihis sallam were called Esai(Christians) which means followers of Hazrat Isa Alahis Sallam but the religion has always been Islam so they were Muslims(believers) but were called Esai due to following Isa Alaishis Sallam. is that true?
One mufti told me that other religions who have truthful aspects of Islam should also be respected (truthful aspects found in other religions such as Christianity, Judaism etc). So I asked him that due to me getting into wasawis thinking about other religions. I say I love and respect everything in my religion Islam which covers everything ( believing oneness of Allah Ta'ala and in all books and all prophets and all angels of Allah Ta'ala and everything in Islam) And I do not respect any other religion EXCEPT islam as islam is a perfect religion and I only respect Islam (which covers everything)
1. Is saying I love and respect my religion Islam only and do not respect any other religion fine? and Are my all concepts are clear and correct? and
2. is my Iman intact asking this question?
sorry lots of questions please do reply. I am a person who gets wasawis a lot and every day I get questionable thoughts and bad thoughts about Islam which then forces me to ask questions when confused etc. I am struggling with extreme wasawis every day. please do reply
JazakAllah khair

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In terms of belief, we must believe Islam to be the only accepted religion since the prophethood of the Prophet (may Allah’s mercy and blessing be upon him).[1]
Before the Prophet Muhammad, the message which all the other prophets brought to their nations was the same message of tawhīd (oneness of Allāh). Many of their practical rulings were also similar to ours like the prohibition of fornication and alcohol, although some rulings have changed.
Therefore, you must believe that whatever Allāh Ta’ālā had given to the prophets in their own time, it was the truth. However today, all the religions and their books have been distorted and corrupted except the Qur’ān, therefore you are not obliged to believe in the corrupted religions that are present today.
As far as respect goes, you do not need to hold any form of respect for their religions in your heart. However, be respectful of your conduct.[2]
Only Allāh Ta’ālā knows best
