Question:

Can I wear KT tape while in Ihram?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Kinesiology Therapeutic (KT) tape is applied to muscles, joints, and ligaments to support and reduce discomfort. It helps to minimise swelling, improve movement, and speed up healing.

KT tape will be allowed due to necessity because it is to reduce an injury and swelling.

It is mentioned in Musannaf of Abi Shaybah in the chapter of Muhrim:

وعَنْ عَطَاءٍ قَالَ: لا بَأْسَ أَنْ يَعْصِبَ عَلَى الْجُرْحِ.

“It is fine to wrap/cover the wound”. [Musannaf of Abi Shaybah Vol 3 page 409]
