Question:

Due to Cov 19 lockdown in the UK at present. Can we do Eid Fitr at home with his own family?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

During the Time of Covid-19 due to the rules and regulations, it would be permissible for one to pray eid salah with his family at home, this is due to 2 reasons which are part of the necessities (ضروريات)

The first one is حفظ النفس. One of the 5 necessities is to protect yourself, going out during lockdown would put your health at risk. It is important to stay at home and follow the rules.

The second one is: حفظ الدين, Another one of the 5 necessities is to protect your religion, praying at home can help with that.
