Question
If you are the only one in the mosque and the time for salah has arrived but no one has given Azaan but you don't know/remember the supplication which is recited after azaan, what should such a person do, give the azan or not?
Answer
The ruling of the Azaan and the supplication after Azaan is Sunnah. One should wait in the mosque until the muazzin arrives. However, if the muazzin does not arrive or there is no fixed muazzin for that mosque then one may give the azan regardless of whether knowing the supplication or not. Furthermore, one should not underestimate the virtues and the rewards of the Sunnahs of Rasoolulah (sallahu alayhi wa sallam), for that reason it is best to give the Azaan and then recite the supplication after Azaan.
Only Allah knows best.
