Question

Is it permissible to read the dua after wudhu in English?

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

It is better and preferable to read the Dua in the Arabic language, however, if one is not able to then one may recite in any other language.

Nevertheless, some ulema like the great Allamah Ibn Abidin Shami (r.a) mention that it is Makrooh Tahreemi to read dua in any other language other than Arabic whether the person can speak Arabic or not.[1]
