Question

Assalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

I am Hanafi and I lead Taraweeh in a mixed community; having Shafiee, Hanbali, and Salafee praying behind me. I pray my witr the Hanafi way with three Rakat, Qunoot before Ruku, and by reciting qunoot silently. Those who pray behind me are insisting me to recite Qunoot loudly in Salah.

Will that be permissible for me? Is it allowed in the Hanafi madhab to recite Qunoot loudly in Salah?

Answer:

It is best that the Imam recites the qunoot silently, and this is the chosen opinion in the Hanafi madhab. However, it is also permissible for the Imam to recite the qunoot loudly.[1]
