Question

There is not enough space for my wife to read behind me when doing Jamat at home. Is it allowed for her to stand a little behind me by my side?

In the same way, can my children also stand to the right of my wife for salat with Jamat due to lack of space?

Answer:

It is permissible for a husband and wife to do Jamat together with the husband leading the salah and the wife standing behind him.[1]

In principle, the wife should stand right behind her husband, but if due to lack of space if this is not possible then she can stand a few steps behind her husband to his right. The children can also stand to the right side of their mother.[2]
