Question:

I had a sweaty hand which came into contact with urine I then touched the toilet door handle and after I had done this I realised my mistake. My mum sprayed the door handle and gave it a wipe with a cloth, but this spray is a disinfectant spray like Dettol. I was wondering if it’s pure even though the spray says it causes eye irritation cause I read in a fatwa that says if the cleaning product caused harmful side effects you have to wash the area again. And I touched that door handle with wet hands and touched my bed sheet. What should I do?

Answer:

Impurity is removed by washing or wiping away with clean water or a water-based solution, eg soapy water. The impurity on the door handle was removed by the detergent.

After touching the sheets whilst there were traces of urine on your hand if you saw traces of impurity or dampness on the sheet, then you should wash that area of the sheet and leave it to dry.
