Question:
My normal haidh habit is 10 days of haidh and 17 days of tuhr.
Haidh was from the 18th to the 28th of September. thereafter the istihaadha was on the 29th, 30th, 1st, 2nd, 3rd.
After that, I was clean on the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th.
My istihaadhah started again on the 10th. full red blood flow still continued.
I started counting the haidh from the 17th day,
Since I had istihaadhah for so many days, haidh ended after 8 days instead of my usual 10 days.
Then I was clean for 6 days.
Istihaadhah started again on the 7th day, still continuing. do I still start counting haidh after 17 days or after 15 days?

Answer:
Wa ʿalaykumu s-salam waRahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,
When you see blood before the fifteenth day of tuhr, you will revert to your last habit of tuhr and haidh. Anything over your habit will be considered istihadha.
For instance, in your 17 days of tuhr habit, there are 3 days of blood that will be istihadha, and so on.

«[الْفَصْلُ الثَّالِثُ فِي الِاسْتِحَاضَةِ]
لَوْ رَأَتْ الدَّمَ بَعْدَ أَكْثَرِ الْحَيْضِ وَالنِّفَاسِ فِي أَقَلِّ مُدَّةِ الطُّهْرِ فَمَا رَأَتْ بَعْدَ الْأَكْثَرِ إنْ كَانَتْ مُبْتَدَأَةً وَبَعْدَ الْعَادَةِ إنْ كَانَتْ مُعْتَادَةً اسْتِحَاضَةٌ وَكَذَا مَا نَقَصَ عَنْ أَقَلِّ الْحَيْضِ وَكَذَا مَا رَأَتْهُ الْكَبِيرَةُ جِدًّا وَالصَّغِيرَةُ جِدًّا. هَكَذَا فِي الْمُحِيطِ.

والمعتادة –(من سبق منها) من حين بلوغها (دم وطهر صحيحان) كما لو بلغت فرأت ثلاثة دما, وخمسة عشر طهرا, فإذا استمر بها الدم فلها في زمن الاستمرار عادتها.
-(أو أحدهما) بأن رأت دما صحيحا وطهرا فاسدا. كما لو رأت خمسة دما, وأربعة عشر طهرا, ثم استمر الدم, فحيضها من أول الاستمرار خمسة لانها دم صحيح وطهرها بقية الشهر, لأن ما رأته طهر فاسد لا تصير به معتادة, فلم يصلح لنصب العادة أيام الإستمرار.
