Question
In maghrib, after reciting Rabanaalakalhamd I checked my sleeve to make sure my skin wasn't showing as I get waswasa as I'd did this I was repeating the same words and went for sajda. This process may have been longer than 3 SubhanAllah so should I have done sajda sahuw? I did not do it so should I repeat my prayer?
Answer
In above mentioned case, prostrations of forgetfulness (Sajda Sahuw) is compulsory as one of the mandatory act of prayer is bowing (Ruku) which was delayed longer than three Subahanallah by repeating RabbanaLakalHamd. It has been stated in “Fatawa-e-Alamghiree” that, ‘leaving or delaying any wajib act or delaying any fard act necessitate prostrations of forgetfulness.’ [See:Fatawa-e-Alamghiree, vol:1, page:161, publisher: Bangladesh Taj company Limited]
It is not necessary to repeat the prayer for missing prostrations of forgetfulness.
