Question
Kindly explain in detail SADQA AND MINAT, a person himself can eat the meat of SADQA and MINAT?
Also please tell that if a father is giving SADQA OR MINAT for his son. Can both of them eat the same?
In the name of Allah the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Answer
Sadaqa is derived from Sidq (Truthful) meaning that the person is giving charity to help the poor and needy confirming his true devotion and service to Allah.
Sadaqah is any noble action done for the purpose of seeking Allah’s pleasure and reward.
Nazr is a vow to make a mubaah (permissible act) compulsory upon oneself. Mannat is the Urdu translation of Nazr.
An example of Nazr would be; ‘O Allah, grant me a son and I’ll give two goats as Sadaqah’ so when Allah grants that person a son he will give two goats as Sadaqah and he may also partake in it.
Regarding your last question, a Sadaqah or Mannat given by the father for the son its recipients is the poor. The rich cannot eat from it. (Aapke Masaail p.418 v.3)
Only Allah knows best.
