Question:
So I had a feeling that my abaya during the 2 rakah’s of fajr salah in fard was dirty as I felt that the abaya went inside my back passage. Usually, when that happens, my clothes start to smell but as I thought that it didn’t go all the way in, I thought it’d be fine but I wasn’t sure. I feel like maybe I was sure but I ignored this as I felt like my doubts made me feel like I was sure but I ignored this and carried on with my salah. It wasn’t until after that I smelt my abaya and it did in fact smell of impurities and was dry. Does this mean that I have to repeat my prayer? Or was the salah I prayed, okay?
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
If you believe your back passage is impure, your salah will not be valid as there is impurity on your body. However, if you are certain that your body is pure, your clothes touching it will not lead to the transfer of any impurity even if you find an unusual smell. The key thing to look out for is the physical transfer of impurity. If you can’t see any physical impurity, go with the assumption that your body and your clothes are pure and that your prayer is valid.
Only Allah knows best.
