Question
What is the ruling in the following case?
I saw water splashing from the toilet (whilst flushing) into the direction of a puddle of clean water which was on the floor
However, I did not see the splashes actually falling into the puddle
Is the puddle of water considered najis?
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
In Fiqh, certainty is not overridden by doubt. If you did not see the splashes of impure water (from the toilet) actually mixing with the clean puddle, then the clean puddle retains its original state of purity and is not considered najis (impure). It is essential not to let doubts and suspicions lead to unnecessary hardship in matters of tahara (purification).
Only Allah knows best.
