Question:

Salam, Dear MUFTI SAHAB, kindly tell the meaning of the dream which I had seen during the PRESTIGIOUS month of RAMZAN just before waking up for SEHRI, almost 5 years ago. I saw that i was with my cousin (to whom i love and she too loves me) in a graveyard. She was covering her head with the white dupatta (headscarf) and it was a full moons night as the moon was shining at its best. We both saw three infants wrapped in white clothes and all of the three infants were smiling , and on seeing this we both at once said "MASHA-ALLAH" (three times). Please tell me (1)-the correct meaning of this dream. (2)-Guide me as my father is going to marry me with another girl as my aunty (cousin's mother) says that she will only marry her with me after her 2 elder sisters will get married i.e. she is not ready to marry the younger girl first .Please give evidence of sharia regarding this. I will be highly thankful to you.

Answer:

Bismillah

The interpretation of the aforementioned dream given by my respected teachers is that it could be a sign from Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) that you should marry her.

However, if you really want to marry her, you will need to go about things in a correct manner. You must at once stop all informal communication with her, and seek Allah's forgiveness if any sins were committed. Thereafter, discuss the matter with your and her parents. Explain to your father that you want to get married to this girl and not the one your father is intended with. And only if your parents agree let them explain to your auntie the situation and see whether they are willing to conduct the marriage of the girl first with you before the elder two sisters. Also pray the Salat Istikhara and ask Allah to guide you. If marriage with her is destined for you, you will marry her; otherwise Allah may well have chosen someone more suitable for you.

I do understand that you really want to get married to this girl but sometimes you have to be patience and have trust in Allah subḥānahu wa ta'āla (glorified and exalted be He) that he has something better lined up for you.

Saaiduna Abu Yahya Suhaib Bin Sinan said that the Prophet of Allah ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said, “Wondrous are the believers affairs.  For him there is good in all his affairs, and this is so only for the believer.  When something pleasing happens to him, he is grateful, and that is good for him; and when something displeasing happens to him, he is doing sabr and that is good for him”.   (Sahih Muslim)

Saaiduna Anas Bin Malik Radiallahu Anhu narrates that the Prophet of Allah ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) had sent for the Ansar and gathered them in a tent and said to them, “Be patient till you meet Allah and His Rasul, and I will be on the Lake of Al Kauthar”.   (Sahih Bukhari)

Only Allah Knows Best
