Question:

Assalamu-Alaikum.

I am from Gujarat. Currently I am working in Oman since February 2016. I came here at very low salary. Before this I was in India. There also my salary was very less. I am in search of a good job with nice salary in India or abroad. I make Dua regularly after FardNamaz. I am not getting what I want. I am going back to India InshaAllah next month and will search a good job from there again. I am feeling disappointed and low all these days.

Is this because of my sins why my Dua is not getting accepted ?

What should I do to get a job with nice pay and large rizq ?

Please help me out. JazakAllah.
Make Dua for me and my Family.

Answer:

Bismillah

Your question will be answered in to sections:

  1. Firstly we will discuss the etiquettes of making Dua.

Allah has stated in the Quran:

He is the Ever Living, La ilahaillaHuwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), so call Him making your worship pure for Him Alone. All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists).  (Surah Mu’min: 65)

Invoke your Lord with humility and in secret. He likes not the aggressors. And do not do mischief on the earth, after it has been set in order, and invoke Him with fear and hope; Surely, Allah's Mercy is (ever) near unto the good-doers. (Surah Al-A’raf: 55& 56)

Amr bin Malik Al-Janbi(may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that he heard Fadalah bin Ubaid saying:

“The Prophet () heard a man supplicating in his Salat but he did not send Salat upon the Prophet (), so the Prophet () said: ‘This one has rushed.’ Then he called him and said to him, or to someone other than him: ‘When one of you performsSalat, then let him begin by expressing gratitude to Allah and praising Him. Then, let him send Salat upon the Prophet (), then let him supplicate after that, whatever he wishes.’” (Sunan At-Tirmizi: 3477)

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah () said:“Call upon Allah while being certain of being answered, and know that Allah does not respond to a supplication from the heart of one heedless and occupied by play.” (Sunan At-Tirmizi: 3479)

Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported the Messenger of Allah () as saying: "One of you should not say (in his supplication): O Allah, forgive me if You please, show mercy to me if You please.' Rather, be firm in your asking, for no one can force Him." (SunanAbiDawood: 1483)

Narrated Abu Hurairah(may Allah be pleased with him): that the Messenger of Allah () said: "O you people! Indeed Allah is Tayyib (good) and he does not accept but what is good. And indeed Allah ordered the believers with what He ordered the Messengers. He () said: 'O you Messengers! Eat of the good things and do righteous deeds. Verily I am well acquainted with what you do (23:51).' And He said: 'O you who believe! Eat from the good things We have provided you (2:172).' He said: "And he mentioned a man: 'Who is undertaking a long journey, whose hair is dishevelled and he is covered with dust. He raises his hands to the heavens and says: "O Lord! O Lord!" Yet his food is from the unlawful, his drink is from the unlawful, his clothing is from the unlawful, and he was nourished by the unlawful. So how can that (dua) be accepted?'" (Sunan At-Tirmizi: 3257)

Abu Huraira(may Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger () as saying: The supplication of the servant is granted in case he does not supplicate for sin or for severing the ties of blood, or he does not become impatient. It was said: Allah's Messenger, what does:" If he does not grow impatient" imply? He said: That he should say like this: I supplicated and I supplicated but I did not find it being responded. Then he becomes frustrated and abandons supplication. (Sahih Muslim: 2735)

In conclusion of the above mentioned narrations the following etiquettes should be adopted when making Dua and Inshallah your Dua will be answered:

  1. To be sincere.
  2. To be humble one’s self at the time of dua.
  3. To praise Allah.
  4. To send salat and salam (duroodshareef) upon the Prophet ().
  5. To have conviction of the dua being accepted.
  6. To ensure the presence of the heart and not to be heedless.
  7. To be firm in the dua for what is needed.
  8. To ensure that one’s food, drink and clothing is of halal means.
  9. To remain patient for the acceptance of the dua.
  10. To avoid all types of sins.

The above are a few of the etiquettes of making dua which will Inshallah strengthen the dua.

Finally Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah () said: “There is not a man who calls upon Allah with a supplication, except that he is answered. Either it shall be granted to him in the world, or reserved for him in the Hereafter, or, his sins shall be expiated for it according to the extent that he supplicated – as long as he does not supplicate for some sin, or for the severing of the ties of kinship, and he does not become hasty.” They said: “O Messenger of Allah, and how would he be hasty?” He () said: “He says: ‘I called upon my Lord, but He did not answer me.’” (Sunan At-Tirmizi: 3604)

  1. There are certain actions which can assist in the increase of wealth:
  1.  Seeking forgiveness from Allah

Allah has stated:

“I said (to them): Ask forgiveness from your Lord; Verily, He is Oft-Forgiving; He will send rain to you in abundance; And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers.” (Surah Nooh 70:10-12)

  1. Maintaining family relationship

Narrated Anas bin Malik(may Allah be pleased with him): I heard Allah's Messenger () saying, "Whoever desires an expansion in his sustenance and age, should keep good relations with his Kith and kin." (SahihBukhari: 2067)

  1. Giving in charity

Say, "Indeed, my Lord extends provision for whom He wills of His servants and restricts [it] for him. But whatever thing you spend [in His cause] – He will compensate it; and He is the best of providers." (Surah Saba: 39)

  1.  To be conscious of Allah and to build taqwa

Allah has stated: And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine.(Surah al-Talaaq 65:2-3)

  1. It was narrated from Umm Salamah(may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet () performed theFajrsalah, when he said the Salam, he would say:

"‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا وَعَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلاً ‏"

(O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision and acceptable deeds) (SunanIbnMajah: 978)

In conclusion, there are many actions and deeds which can be adopted for the increasing of wealth.

Only Allah knows best
