Question:
Our family has no business, and whenever we start a business, either we get no profit or the person with whom we start the business becomes a thief and takes all our money. This has not happened just once, but twice. Now we have plots and properties, but they are not selling. And if we sell the property, due to our helplessness, the person who buys it sells the property at twice the price within 1 or 2 months. From 2018 until now, we have had no business to run, and we are mostly living on loans. Today, we are living in such misery. We have performed many Wazifas and duas, and we have also started a Wazifa of 41 days reciting Surah Al-Baqarah. Some say our family is under the evil eye. Please, Mufti Sahib, tell us something that can help us solve all our problems
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
This life is a test from Allah Ta’ala. Allah Ta’ala is our provider and sustainer. People are not always successful in their business ventures, and you must accept Allah’s predestiny/ Qadr. Everything occurs according to Allah’s will (إرادة) and infinite wisdom. You need to be patient upon your affliction and and put your trust in Allah Ta’ala. You must hope for his reward and forgiveness as a result of you remaining strong in Iman (belief in Allah Ta’ala) during difficult circumstances.
Read Surah Waqiah
My advice is for all your family members to read Surah Waqiah every night after Maghrib prayer.
Be thankful to Allah Ta’ala
Also, please remember to be thankful to Allah Ta’ala for all his blessings and favours upon you. You may not be financially well-off, but at least you are healthy, safe, and most importantly, you are Muslim. Make shukr/ thank Allah for all his favours upon you. Allah Ta’ala says in the holy Quran:
{وَإِذۡتَأَذَّنَرَبُّكُمۡلَىِٕنشَكَرۡتُمۡلَأَزِیدَنَّكُمۡۖوَلَىِٕنكَفَرۡتُمۡإِنَّعَذَابِیلَشَدِیدࣱ}
[Surah Ibrāhīm: 7]
(Recall the time) when your Lord declared, “If you express gratitude, I shall certainly give you more, and if you are ungrateful, then My punishment is severe.”
Dua for sustenance, beneficial knowledge, and accepted good deeds
Also please make this below dua every day after Fajr prayer.
اللهم إني أسألك علما نافعا ورزقا طيبا وعملا متقبلا
“Allahumma inni as’aluka ‘Ilman naafi’an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa ‘amalan mutaqabbalan.”
Translation:
“O Allah, I ask You for knowledge that is of benefit, a good provision, and deeds that will be accepted.”
Istighfar
Please make lots of istighfar/ seeking forgiveness from Allah Ta’ala, and keep making tawbah/ repentance from your past sins. Allah Ta’ala says in the holy Quran:
{فَقُلۡتُٱسۡتَغۡفِرُوا۟رَبَّكُمۡإِنَّهُۥكَانَغَفَّارࣰا}
{یُرۡسِلِٱلسَّمَاۤءَعَلَیۡكُممِّدۡرَارࣰا}
{وَیُمۡدِدۡكُمبِأَمۡوَ ٰلࣲوَبَنِینَوَیَجۡعَللَّكُمۡجَنَّـٰتࣲوَیَجۡعَللَّكُمۡأَنۡهَـٰرࣰا}
[[Surah Nūḥ: 10-12]
And I said, ‘Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Indeed, He is ever a Perpetual Forgiver.
He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers
And give you increase in wealth and children and provide for you gardens and provide for you rivers.
Evil eye protection
Finally, please recite the below dua 3 times after Maghrib prayer for protection from the evil eye. Also recite Surah Ikhlaas, Falaq, and Naas three times in the morning, evening, and once before you sleep. Thereafter, cup your hands and blow into them. Then rub your hands over your body.
A’oodhu bi kalimaatillaahit-taammaati min sharri maa khalaq.
أعوذ بكلمات الله التامات من شر ما خلق
