In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.
Answer
Saaiduna Abdullah Ibn Masuud Radiallhu Anhu narrates that the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam said; “There is no one among you but a companion from among the jinn has been assigned to him, an a companion among the angels.’ They said; ‘Even you, O Messenger of Allah?’ He said; ‘Even me but Allah helped me with him and he became Muslim and (or and I am safe from him), so he only enjoins me to do that which is good.” (Mishkatul Masaabeeh p.18 v.1)
There are some scholarly disputes as to the form of the word. Allamah Khattaabi has said that the word is “Fa Aslamu” (and I am safe from him) whilst Qadi Iyaad said that the word is “Fa Aslama” (and he became Muslim). (Iman Nawawi Sharh Muslim p.157 v.17)
Regarding the second hadith, it can be found in Sahih Muslim under the chapter “Shaitan’s provocation and sending his followers to seduce people (2813)
The hadith is narrated by Saaiduna Jabir Radiallahu Anhu that the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam said, “Shaitan places his throne upon water; then sends detachments (for creating dissension); one of them comes and says: I did not spare so and so until I sowed the seed of discord between him and his father or between him and his mother or his brothers. Then he (Shaitan) says: you did nothing. They will be made up with one another. Another one comes and says: I did not spare so and so until I sowed the seed of discord between him and his wife. The Shaitan goes near him and says: ‘You have done well. And He then embraces him and says: You are so and so.” (Sahih Muslim p.376 v.2)
