Question:

 

I have to do a qadah for i’tikaf as I had an emergency appointment that I had to come out for last year.

 

Just have a question regarding it

 

To do an i’tikaf qadah one has to be in roza ka haalat and you have to stay in the room from maghrib-maghrib (1 day)-can the i’tikaf qadah be done in Ramadan?

Answer:

 

I’tikaaf can be divided into three types: wajib, the one resulting from an oath or a condition that has been fulfilled, sunnah, the one performed in the last 10 days of Ramadan, nafl, the one performed for a short duration and the fasting is not stipulated for this type of fast.¹

 

Based on your question, I am assuming it is during Ramadan, as this is sunnah, you will only perform the qadha of that day², it is not necessary for this to be during Ramadan, however, one will need to fast on that day.³

 

In relation to the question, yes the qadha i’tikaf can be done in the month of Ramadhan.

نفل اعتکاف کی قضا واجب نہیں ، اس لیے کہ وہ مسجد سے نکلنے سے ٹوٹتا نہیں بلکہ ختم ہو جاتا ہے ۔ واجب اعتکاف ٹوٹ جائے خواہ نذر معین ہو یا غیرمعین تو سب ایام کی قضا ء واجب ہے اور اگر سنت اعتکا ف ٹوٹ جائے تو صرف اسی دن کی قضا واجب ہے جس میں اعتکاف ٹوٹا ۔ فاسد ہونے کی صورت میں اعتکاف نفلی ہو جائے گا ایک دن کی قضا لازم ہے چاہے رمضان ہی میں کرے یا رمضان کے بعد نفلی روزہ کے ساتھ کرے
