Question:

How many for Rakah is there for Ishraq?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Sayyiduna Anas Bin Malik ( رضى الله عنه ) narrated that the Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said:

“Whoever prays Fajr in congregation, then sits remembering Allah until the sun has risen, then he prays two Rakah, then for him is the reward like that of a Hajj and Umrah.” He said: “The Messenger of Allah said: ‘Complete, complete, complete”.1

That is after the sun has risen as much as a spear, and this Salah is called Salatul Ishraq.2

This Salah is called the Salatul Ishraq (Sunrise Salah), and it is the first portion of Salatud Duha. 3

The minimum Rakah for Ishraq is two Rakahs and the maximum Rakahs for Ishraq is four Rakats.4

Hence, the Salah of Ishraq is two Rakah, and there is nothing wrong if one performs four Rakah.

Only Allah knows best.
