Question:
My husband's brother was facing a difficulty. Then my husband promised to offer 100 rakat nafal / extra salat if the danger is over. Now the situation is better. So, my husband will now offer 100 rakat salat at a time or can offer during one week?
Answer:
In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.
There are two kinds of vow (Nadhr):
- Conditional vow, for example, one says: “If I recover from my illness, it will be obligatory upon me to do a certain worship for the pleasure of Allah.” When this condition is found that act of worship will become obligatory.
- Absolute or unconditional vow; in this case, one says without any conditions: “I make a vow for the pleasure of Allah to offer two rakaats Salah.” As soon as he makes this vow, it becomes obligatory to perform it.
There is one opinion of Imam Abu Hanifa 
that a vow whether it is conditional or unconditional it becomes obligatory to fulfil. (Mukhtasar Quduuri p.204)
The conclusion of your question will be is that as soon as the condition is found the act of worship will be obligatory. It will also be correct to start the fulfilling of the vow now as one opinion of Imam Abu Hanifa is that it becomes obligatory as soon as the vow is made irrespective of whether the vow has been found or not.
Regarding your specific situation, your husband can perform the 100 rakats over a period of time. It is not necessary that he hast to perform it all together at once.
