Question:

I have some confusion regarding wet dreams. Some scholars said If we have a wet dream and we remember no orgasm so we are not obliged to do a ghusl (ritual bath).

My questions:

1. If I saw a wet dream and I am sure that there was no orgasm but on waking up I saw a little amount of white discharge which is my normal vaginal discharge do I have to take bath or not? I found this but am not sure about it:
2. During my ovulation days, I always had an extra vaginal discharge. In that case, the bath is compulsory after a wet dream remembered no orgasm?
3. If I saw a penetrative sex dream and I am sure that there is no orgasm do I have to take bath or not? Or is just ablution ok? Kindly clear it for me; I will be very thankful to you.

Answer:

1. The answers given in the text are all correct. Without an orgasm, a ghusl is not necessary.

2. There is no ghusl needed for normal vaginal discharge. The ghusl is only necessary when you have had an orgasm¹.

3. Seeing a dream as you have described will not require a ghusl unless an orgasm has taken place.²

2 ولو تذكر الاحتلام ولذة الإنزال ولم ير بللا لا يجب عليه الغسل والمرأة كذلك في ظاهر الرواية؛ لأن خروج منيها إلى فرجها الخارج شرط لوجوب الغسل عليها وعليه الفتوى. هكذا في معراج الدراية
