Question:
If the burial is taking place tomorrow, is there any karaahah to have salatul janazah tonight instead of tomorrow morning, so that more people can attend?
Either way, tadfeen can only take place tomorrow morning
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
There is no problem in praying the janazah salah one day before because all the conditions have been fulfilled.
Janazah Salah can be performed at any time during the day or night besides the Makrooh times for salaah during (the day). It is Makrooh Tahreemi to perform salaah three times:
- When the sun is rising
- When it is setting
- When the sun is in its meridian.
It will be Makrooh Tahreemi (detested to a great extent) to perform salah of Janaza at these times. Besides these timings, it can be performed at all other times during the day or night.
However, one must hasten to perform the burial as soon as possible. If it’s possible to be done the same day, then one must perform the burial and not performing the burial as soon as possible will be makrooh.
Only Allah (عز و جل) knows best.
