Question
I live in India many people out here go to the grave and ask for help and they call themselves Muslim but they do it out of ignorance will Allah consider them Muslims
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
Allah (swt) says in the Holy Quran, “Surely Allah does not forgive associating (others) with him (in worship), but forgives anything else of whomever He wills. Indeed, whoever associates (others) with Allah has clearly gone far astray.” 1. From this verse we understand that if a person dies upon associating partners with Allah (swt), then Allah (swt) will not forgive the person.
In Surah Yunus Allah (swt) says, “And do not invoke besides Allah that which neither benefits you nor harms you, for if you did, then indeed you would be of the wrongdoers.” 2. From this verse of the Quran we learn that it is not permissible to call or invoke on anyone else besides Allah.
A Muslim is a person who proclaims that there is no God or Deity, but Allah and that Muhammad (saw) is the Messenger of Allah. Therefore, a person who calls and worships someone else who is in the grave will not be considered a Muslim.
