Question:
Is it allowed go to the Christmas markets to buy stuff like strawberries dipped in chocolate etc?
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
Generally the markets are similar, you won’t be involved in any celebration or rituals. However as muslim we should not frequent such places. We have to be sensitive to our imaan and our aqidah not to be affected to such environment.
Keep in mind a person come out of the house for necessities and not to waste time or take a walk in the markets. As this will be a means of futility.
As for the food, if the ingredients are lawful then it will be permissible, if any doubtful ingredient in it, then a person should stay away.
In the Quran Allah says (surah baqarah verse 168)
people, eat of what is in the earth, permissible and good, and do not follow in the footsteps of Satan; indeed, for you he is an open enemy.
Only Allah (عز و جل) knows best.
