Question:

Is it haram or makrooh at all for one’s wife to please her husband by adorning and enhancing her size of hips through exercising with machine, and enlarging her breasts and nipples without surgery through breast pumps and taking estrogen increasing supplements like fenugreek and growth hormone increasing supplement amino acids which all are halal and safe completely? Would any of such cause the risk of other men to stare at her in public?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Beauty and adornment is the nature of women. Shariah also encourages women to beautify themselves for their husbands. If a woman adorns herself within the limitations of Shariah, that is an act of virtue. If she trespasses the limits of Shariah in beautifying herself, it will be a vice.

Although it is permissible in shariah for a woman to adorn herself for her husband using natural, safe, and halal means as mentioned in the query above, one must adhere to moderation.

Allah (swt) said in the Quran,

“And we have made you a just (moderate) community.” (2:143)

Shariah has encouraged us to take the middle path between extremism and deficiency.

Therefore, we advise that one should abstain from going to such extremes in order to enhance one’s bodily features.

Islam emphasises on modesty and shame. One should try to express modesty in all aspects of life. We must not let all the immodestly around us affect us in our modesty and shame. The messenger of Allah (May peace and blessings be upon him) said,

“Iman is 60 something branches and modesty is a branch of Iman (faith).” (Bukhari:9)

In conclusion, it is permissible for one to adorn herself using natural and permissible means, however moderation must be adhered to.

Only Allah (عز و جل) knows best.
