Question

If a doctor tells someone that a treatment might damage a man’s fertilizer and it would be good to store it in the future. Is it halal?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

If a man is told by a reputable doctor that a particular treatment will most likely impact their fertility and they have advised storing the sperm, this would be valid to do. This is out of necessity and out of consideration of one of the principles of Shariah which is to preserve lineage. Storing the sperm allows the possibility of the man using his sperm in the future within marriage to have children.
