Question:

Is it permissible to volunteer at a homeless centre that serves hot food – which is a mixture of haraam and halal food?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

It is permissible to volunteer at an establishment where haraam food is handed out provided you are not involved in the making or handing out of the haraam food. Otherwise, it will be impermissible [1]. To gift something haraam to another muslim is prohibited, and there is no way to guarantee no muslim will come to you.
