Question:

1. ​Nowadays, most hair removal creams/lotions have serious health risks. That’s why, is it allowed or preferred for ​​ladies to use ​​razors/trimmers/scissors instead of hair removal cream?​​

​2. Will ladies have to remove/clear the hair around the Anus as well?

Answer:

Abu Huraira (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated; I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying. “Five practices are characteristics of the Fitra: circumcision, shaving the pubic hair, cutting the moustaches short, clipping the nails, and depilating the hair of the armpits.”(Sahih al Bukhari, Hadith, 5891)[1]

To answer your question regarding a woman using a razor, trimmer or scissors to remove pubic hair.
It is permissible for a woman to use a razor, trimmer or scissors to remove pubic hair. (Hashiyat Tahtaawi, pg 527)[2]

It would be recommended for a woman to remove the hair around her buttocks to prevent any difficulties in removing impurities, as this would be closer to cleanliness (Hashiyat Tahtaawi, pg 527)[3]

[2] والسنة في حلق العانة أن يكون بالموسى لأنه يقوي وأصل السنة يتأدى بكل مزيل لحصول المقصود وهو النظافة، و إنما جاء الحديث بلفظ الحلق لأنه الأغلب، و سواء في ذلك الرجل والمرأة.

[3] و يستحب إزالة شعر الدبر خوفا من أن يعلق به شيء من النجاسة الخارجة، فلا يتمكن من إزالته بالإستجمار.
