Question:

If someone stays in a remote location for 2-3 weeks (so not a Musafir) for work purposes and there’s no Jummah in the town he’s working in, does he need to look for Jummah in another town? How far does he need to travel? Is he only absolved if it is مسافة القصر? What if there is a masjid 30 miles away but not practical to drive there and back in time for work? Jzk

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

If you are in such a place where between it and the city is pasture and farmland, Jumuah would not be compulsory regardless of the distance between the location and the city (Fatawa Hindiyyah, Vol 1, Pg 159-160). Considering you are staying at a remote location; this will likely apply to you. Therefore, you would not need to look for Jumuah in another town. Rather, you should pray Zuhr.
