I enjoy kite flying ever since childhood. Is kite flying haram/shirk as per Islam?
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Flying a kite is permissible provided the following:
- The shape of the kite is not made to resemble a living thing such as a dragon.
- It is not done to celebrate or commemorate any occasion.
- It does not harm anyone.
- It does not lead to neglecting one's religious obligations, like Salaah etc.
