Question

Alhamdulillah I went for an Umrah in Ramadan and due to the huge crowd I could not able perform 2 Rakat Nafl near Muqam E Ibrahim, I went back did Masa with Zamzam and I started Sayee and completed my Umrah without performing 2 rakats. Please tell me is my Umrah valid? If not what would be kaffara to it?

Answer

I will mention two points regarding your question.

Firstly the ruling of praying the two rakats after the completion of a tawaf and secondly whether they should be prayed behind the Maqam Ibrahim.

It is obligatory to pray two rakats after the completion of every type of tawaf whether it is a sunnah or a fardh tawaf like the Umrah and Hajj tawaf.

If one did not perform these two rakats anywhere in the Haram then the responsibility of doing so still remains and one must perform them even if one is back home. (Kitabul Hajj p.39)

It is considered a sunnah, something desirable to perform the two rakats of tawaf behind the Maqam Ibrahim. If there is no place there, one can perform these anywhere in the Haram. (Kitabul Hajj p.38)

The conclusion to your question is that your Umrah is valid however, it is still obligatory to pray these two rakats now at home. The performance of the two rakats of tawaf is not a condition for the Umrah to be valid.
