Question:

I want to ask if the container that is used for washing the private parts after relieving oneself, is it considered impure? If a part of it touches me or my clothes, will I have to wash the affected area?

Answer:

In The Name Of Allah, The Most-Merciful, The Most Kind

An object only becomes impure when it comes into contact with an impurity such as urine or feces. (Al-Ikhtiyar Al-Ikhtiyar Kitab at-Taharah, Bab al-Najasah) If the container was soiled with urine, then the body or clothing would become impure if the urine transferred from the container to the body or clothing.

However, if the container had dried urine on it, it would not necessarily transfer over unless the place was moist. Simply touching an object with dried impurity does not make the body or clothing impure because touching it when dry does not cause the transfer. (Al-Ikhtiyar Al-Ikhtiyar Kitab at-Taharah, Bab al-Najasah)

Lastly, keep in mind that even if some urine had transferred and that part of your body or clothing has become impure, any small amount of impurity on the body or the clothing which is up to the size of a UK 50 pence coin is overlooked if you cannot clean it for the purpose of prayer. (Al-Ikhtiyar Al-Ikhtiyar Kitab at-Taharah, Bab al-Najasah)
