Question:

Myths and practices for pregnant women

Answer:

Bismillah

There are no myths or practices for a pregnant woman to do during a solar or lunar eclipse. Similarly, there is no such thing as a pregnant woman not being allowed to touch sharp objects. Believing in myths falls under superstition and superstitious beliefs in Islam amounts to shirk.

Saaiduna Abdullah Ibn Masud raḍyAllāhu 'anhu (may Allāh be pleased with him) narrates that the Prophet of Allah ṣallallāhu 'alayhi wa sallam (peace and blessings of Allāh be upon him) said: “Tiyarah (superstitious belief in bird omens) is shirk.” (Sunan Abu Dawud p.190 v.2)
