Naqsh of various surahs of the Quran

CategoriesQur'an [170]
I received a book as a gift (pansura shareef) from India and it contains surahs with their virtues (e.g. best times to read and some boxes called naqsh, it states in the book, that if you keep these ‘naqsh written with you, you are protected etc…. Now, i’m confused as i’m reading up on the sunnah of the Prophet (saw) but this was never mentioned.

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

Answer

Every surahs of the Holy Quran has some kind of virtues and rewards.

It is reported that The Prophet of Allah (Sallallahu Alahi Wasallam) had said:
”Whoever recites Surah Dukhaan on the night of Jumma (i.e. Thursday night) 70 thousand angels ask for forgiveness for that person until the morning.”

(Tabraani)

Saiduna Abu Saeed Khudri Radiallahu Anhu reports that The Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasallam has said that the person who reads Surah Kahf on the eve of Jumma (i.e. Thursday night), a Noor is illuminated between him, and the Kaaba.  (Sunan Darriimi)

Sayyida Aaisha Radiallahu Anha narrates that whenever The Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasallam would become ill, he would recite the Mu’awwizat (Surah al-Falaq & Surah an-Nas) and blow over himself. When his illness was aggravated, I used to recite these two Surahs and blow over him and make him rub his body with his own hand, for its blessings. (Sahih Bukhari)

There are many wazifas that through the experience of pious predecessors have proven to be of spiritual and physical benefit. These naqsh falls under this category. These will be permissible as long as one does not believe it to be Sunnah; otherwise it will be considered as an innovation.
