Question:

I am a 63-year-old woman. Is it still wajib for me to wear a niqab.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

And for those old women who have no hope for marriage, there is no sin on them, if they take off their (extra) clothes while they do not display their adornment. Still, that they refrain (even from this) is better for them. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.

Surah Noor verse 60

If the woman has grown so old that she cannot have kids, does not desire marriage or sexual contact, others don’t desire her and there’s no chance of Fitnah as she is treated like a Mahram, then she doesn’t have to wear Niqab.

However, it is still better for her to wear the Niqab. Tafseer Maafirul Quran v6, page 460
