Question

Is reading Qur’an without wudhu okay?If no then how will the non-muslims who are trying to find which is the correct religion read the Qur’an, as they need to know if Islam the correct religion?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

It is compulsory to have wudhu touch the Quran even if it may be only one verse.[1]

When it comes to non Muslims being introduced to the Quran,we usually allow them to touch, hold or we even gift to them a copy of the translation of the Quran as wudhu is not needed for touching it.This is because non-Muslims generally are not capable of reading and understanding the Arabic language thus the translation of the meanings of the Quran will be better for them.

In addition to this, Tawheed (oneness of Allah) and risaalat (prophethood) is explained to them from the point of view of the hadeeth of the Prophet s.a.w. due to the Sunnat being the way to understand the meanings of the Quran.
