Question:
I have OCD about purification of surfaces. I keep mopping my bathroom floor for fear what if drops are najis. Please guide me. Because I know this is not right thing to do.
I have heard that floor becomes pure if no traces of impurity is left after drying. Is it true for wooden flooring and tiled flooring at home also? And just to tell you here Im not talking about big impurities like urine or blood. Only doubtful impure water splashes or drops or if someone had wet doubtful feet and they walked in my room.
So can I consider my wooden and tiled floors pure if they dry up and no traces are left behind? Please guide me ASAP.

Answer:
It is important that we seek protection in Allah from the doubtful whispers which Shaytaan whispers into a persons heart regarding anything, in this case purity. These doubts are designed to make a believer uneasy and become troubled with what it is they are doubting about and to cause them tension. Therefore it is important to seek protection in Allah from being in that position.
Below will be mentioned details according to the principle: Everything is pure unless proven otherwise.
Once something has become impure, apply the appropriate cleaning product and clean it accordingly. This can be done by wiping over it with a cloth, for example, regarding lighter impurities, like spillages.
Once the floor, wooden or tiled, has been cleaned then there is no need to doubt or feel that the cleaning has not been done. In relation to doubtful impurities, clean it once and that is sufficient.
Your wooden and tiled floors can only be considered pure after becoming impure, if it is wiped up and cleaned once so that the effect of the impurity does not remain. Thereafter can it be considered and established as clean.
