Prophet Sallallahu Alahi Wasalams diet

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

Answer

Saaidah Aaisha Radiallahu Anha said: “The most beloved drink to the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam was a cool sweet drink.”  (Ashraful Wasaail Ila Fahmi Shamail)

Saaiduna Abdullah Bin Jafar Radiallahu Anhu narrates that the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam would eat cucumber with dates.  (Sunan Tirmizi p.6 v.2)

The two sons of Busr al-Sulmiyain said: “The Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Waslam would love butter with dates.  (Sunan Abi Dawud)

Saaidah Aaisha Radiallahu Anha narrates that The Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam would love the sweet-dish and honey.”  (Sunan Tirmizi p.5 v.2)

Saaiduna Anas bin Malik Radiallahu Anhu said: “I saw the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam looking for the gourd in the plate, ever since then I have loved it.”  (Sunan Abi Dawud p.175 v.2)

The Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam said: “Have olive oil and rub yourselves with it.” (Sunan Tirmizi)

Saaiduna Ibn Abbas Radiallahu Anhu said: “The most beloved food to the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam was Thareed (a dish composed of meat and bread).  (Sunan Abi Dawud p.175 v.2)

The Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam said: “Salt is the master of your food.”  (Sunan Ibn Majah p.238 v.2)

Saaiduna Abu Hurairah Radiallahu Anhu narrates that “the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam distributed dates among us, and my share was five dates, four of which were good and one was a Hashafa, and I found Hashafa the hardest for my teeth.”  (Sahih Bukhari p.818 v.2)

Once the Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam asked his family for food, and they said “We have nothing but vinegar.”  He asked for it and started to eat it saying, “What a good food is vinegar.”  (Sahih Muslim p.182 v.2)
