Question:
We had artificial insemination this month as a fertility treatment. I had done self masturbation to take semen out to give it to lab for sperm wash to inject in my wife’s uterus. I did it so that the sperm didn’t get wasted as I had night fall 2-3 hours before procedure and due to this the sample collected had very less volume and sperm.
Is self masturbation allowed in these procedures as there is a risk of semen getting wasted?
Is asking repentance enough from Allah swt for doing masturbation to collect semen?
As my semen was used, if my wife gets pregnant, would the baby would be lawful?

Answer:
To answer your first question, No, self-masturbation is generally not permissible. Instead, alternative methods should be used, such as collecting semen in a condom during intercourse or using a container through the coitus interruptus method.
Secondlly, Yes, one must seek sincere forgiveness from Allah (SWT) for this act.
Third, Yes, the baby will be completely lawful, as your semen was used for conception, even though it was inserted artificially.
