Question:
What is the ruling on doing Rafa’ al Yadain before and after Rukuu’ in Salaah

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:
Performing Rafa’ al Yadain (raising of the hands) before and after the ruku is not preferred. According to the Hanafi madhab it is preferred that a person does not raise their hands except when initiating the prayer, witr salah and the Eid prayer. However, since it is not impermissible, a prayer would still be valid even if someone did perform it.

Only Allah (عز و جل) knows best.
