Question:

 

If I have used a carpet cleaner with water mixed with soap will that water be classed at tahur also if I cleaned najis and some of the dirty water collected by the machine spilled is this water najis itself?

 

Finally if I have dry najasa on my socks and I put them on with wet feet will it cause the najis to spread?

 

 

 

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

 

Answer:

 

• The soapy water will become impure if it mixes with an impurity. Thus if the carpet is pure, the soapy water used to clean the carpet will be considered pure. However if the carpet has impurities in it, the soapy water will become impure when it mixes with the impure substance on the carpet.

 

Thereafter if the machine collects that impure water and spills it again, the surface upon which the water is spilled will become impure.

 

• If there is dry impurity on your sock and your wet feet touch the sock, your feet will become Najis (impure) if any of the traces of the impurity can be found on your feet. In other words, if either the taste, smell, or colour of the Najasah can be found on your foot, your foot will be considered to be impure.

“ولو ابتل فراش أو تراب نجسا” وكان ابتلالهما “من عرق نائم” عليهما “أو” كان من “بلل قدم وظهر أثر النجاسة” وهو طعم أو لون أو ريح “في البدن والقدم تنجسا” لوجودها بالأثر “وإلا” أي وإن لم يظهر أثرها فيهما “فلا” ينجسان.
