Are we allowed to eat Scallop from a Hanafi point of view? Also can takeaways who are Hanafis sell scallop to those who are from other Madaahibs?

Answer

A scallop is similar to an oyster, thus according to the Hanafi Fiqh it will not be permissible to eat it, as one is only allowed to consume fish from the sea. However, as this is such a masalah where there is a difference of opinion it will be permissible to buy and sell. (Aapke Masaail P.274 V.4 & Hidayyah P.442 V.4)
