Question:

Asalam Alaikum

I would like to ask what the ruling is on selling non taxed products and if a person's majority income is untaxed goods is this permissible to eat from his income.

This is a islahi question but what if a person feels spiritually troubled when exposed to this wealth

Also if a person earns his money whilst disobeying Allah like missing salah can this also spiritually trouble a pious person?

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Islam does not permit the method of lying and deceiving in order for one to avoid paying tax on their products. However, it is okay to use any lawful means in order to reduce or avoid paying tax, as long as those methods do not entail doing anything against the shari’ah.

Furthermore, one should be conscious of drawing harm to oneself by committing illegal acts, therefore, wherever possible, one should pay their tax duties. As for your other questions, a God-fearing individual should feel uncomfortable and spiritually disturbed when using unlawful means for income.

This is a sign of his imaan and he should rectify his actions as soon as possible and repent to Allah.

And Allah Ta’ala knows best
