I have a significant sensory processing disorder which makes any stimuli against my skin uncomfortable and leads to excessive fatigue and excessive sleeping. This has led me to miss countless prayers during my lifetime as Wudu with the application of water is a particularly bad trigger for this. As a result, I have been depressed that I cannot fulfill my religious obligations well whilst having a normal working life/career/family. I feel that if I am able to do Tayammum, I will be able to perform every prayer without difficulty. Is this an instance wherein Tayammum is permissible?

Answer:
Firstly, the situations wherein a person would be allowed to do Tayammum are as follows:
- One who cannot find water while traveling.
- (One who is) outside settled land with approximately one mile or more between him and the water.
- (One who) can find water, but is sick, and is afraid that if he uses the water, his sickness will be intensified.
- If the one is in a state of major impurity and fears that if he makes ghusl with the water, the cold will kill him or make him ill.
- If for a healthy person a funeral prayer is present, and he fears that if he occupies himself with a purification then the salah will escape him.
- Similarly, one who is present at Eid, and fears that if he occupies himself with purification, the salah of (one of) the Two Eid’s will escape him.[1]
Regarding your question, due to your significant sensory processing disorder, it will be permissible to perform Tayammum.
