Question

If a Muslim intends to get citizenship of the non-Muslim country and says in oath "I swear to respect the constitution and laws of this country, be devoted to other citizens" will it be kufr?

Answer:

It is not kufr, nor will he be a murtadd. He should bear in mind to respect and obey all laws of the country which are Sharīʿah compliant, as for those that are not compatible, he should seek alternative legal avenues under ‘freedom of religion.’
